Description |
Monroe School Class Picture - This is a postcard picture of another class from Monroe School. It isn't identified as to the year, but the clothing worn by the students suggest the mid 1930s. The boys are wearing bib overalls and coveralls over button down work shirts. The girls are wearing simple cotton dresses with very little decoration. All these things were common during the Depression. The girls' hair is cut in the "Buster Brown" bob while the boys wear their hair short, with just enough on top to comb over. You can tell it's the Monroe school because you see the same brick facade with ground level windows covered in metal mesh. |
