Eli Kirchhofer photo - from the Gottschalk-Kirchhofer collection. This photo has been identified with a post-it note on the back as Eli Kirchhofer and was probably taken about 1889-1892 because Eli was born in 1874 and he looks like he is between 15 and 17 years old in this photo. Eli is wearing a suit and vest with white shirt with bat-wing collar and a polka-dot ascot tied at his neck. The jacket has narrow lapels and he has tucked a floral print handkerchief in the breast pocket. His vest fabric covered buttons and he has the chain of a watch fob thrust through the buttonhole of his vest. His hair is parted on the side and combed down over his forehead and looks as though he has pomade in it. The bottom of the photo has the photographer's logo printed in gold saying: "W. H. Harry - extra finish - Opposite Archer House, Wooster, Ohio |
