Young Woman in Yellow Dress - This is a picture of a young woman that is unidentified but was probably taken in the 1940s. I am making this assumption because of her hairstyle. Her hair has been parted in the center and then swept up onto the top of her head in "devils horns". She is wearing a pearl necklace and pearl earrings with a scoop necked dress that has ruching around the neckline. Her sleeves appear to be slightly padded at the shoulder and gathered into a little bit of ruching. The picture has been hand tinted, making her cheeks appear slightly blushed, her lips pinkish-red and her dress a sort of dingy yellow. The picture has been framed in a frame that has a fabric border inbetween a double border of pressed metal. |
