Berne Furniture Employees, This is a photo that has been identified as having been taken in October of 1947. The Berne Furniture Co. building can be seen in the background. You can see the name emblazoned across the front above the multi-paned windows. In the background on the far right of the photo you can see a railroad crossing sign and above that can be seen the 2nd story "catwalk". On the left side of the photo can be seen another brick building. All the people pictured in the foreground are employees and most have been identified. The men are all wearing typical work clothes. They are all in shirt sleeves, some have them rolled up to the elbow, others are wearing short sleeves. The women are all wearing light weight, cotton summer dress, some with light weight sweaters and/or jackets. Their hair is permed and I can see that one of the women is wearing saddle shoes.
