Musikhaus Workroom - This picture was taken in the back work shop at the Musikhaus. It shows Irene behind a counter on the right side of the photo, with her father Christian or Chris in the middle and her brother Walter in the front. The room is filled with shelves that have various labeled boxes and bottles that were probably used in repairing the instruments. There are several different work counters that are covered with accordions in need of repair. Chris and Walter are working on two of them. There are vices visible on the work tables and lots of pliers and and other tools hanging on the walls. Each work space has a flouresent light fixture hanging over it and there are flourescent light fixtures hanging in the middle of the room. The windows have unmatching cafe curtains on them, allowing the light in through the upper portion while keeping the bottom part of the window covered. There is an oval mirror hanging on the wall behind Irene and a large calendar. When I zoomed in on the calendar I found that the picture was taken in March of 1954. This picture and 2012.004.3 were taken on the same day, I believe, because Walter and Irene are wearing the same clothes. |
