"This Life is Yours" program was sponsored by the Berne Jaycees to honor an outstanding citizen of the Berne community. The program was patterned after the radio and television show, "This Is Your Life." Elmer W. Baumgartner, president of the First Bank of Berne and for years a business, civic and religious leader in Berne and the community, was named "Citizen of the Year, 1953" at the program on May 8, 1954. The Berne Jaycees sold tickets for the program and had close to 600 people in attendance. There is an article detailing the events of the evening in the May 10, 1954 edition of the Berne Witness. A copy of the photo has been enlarged and numbered and labeled with those in the photo. The numbering starts on the left front to back and the to the right side front to back. 1. Ronald Sprunger 2.
