Description |
Kermit Yoder Farm - Tornado - This aerial view shows the destruction of the Kermit Yoder farm of southern Adams County, IN after the tornado of April 1965 struck. The black and white photo shows a heart shaped driveway in the center, filled with cars. To the right of the driveway is a large barn that has had 3/4's of it's roof ripped off. Various other outbuildings have had their roofs ripped off as well, and you can see the debris from this scattered in the field at the top of the photo. Another unroofed outbuilding and a couple silos that look untouched can be seen on the left side of the photo. A portion of the house can be seen in the lower left hand corner. It looks like it still has part of its roof. In the border above the photo is written, "Kermit Yoder Farm - Tornado". In the bottom border is written, "April 1965". On the back in blue ink is written, "Kermit Yoder" than in pencil, "Tornado April 1965". Then stamped in black ink it says, "Photography by Dave and Edith Cole 202 s. Second Street Decatur, Indiana Phone 3-3861". |
