Description |
150 Years Celebration - Vera Cruz - This picture was taken at the Vera Cruz celebration at St. John's and shows some of the people involved in the ceremony. The only person identified is Ruth Gottschalk, standing in the front row on the left. All the people, except for the man behind Ruth, appear to be dressed in period clothing. Ruth is wearing a dark blue dress with a wide ruffle at the 3/4 length sleeve that is trimmed with white lace, matching the white lace at the neckline. She is also wearing a pocket watch, suspended from a thick gold chain, around her neck. The lady in the middle is wearing a print dress with elbow-length sleeves that has white lace trim at the bodice, sleeve and neckline. The lady standing to the far right, is wearing a light blue calico print dress with puffed, elbow length sleeves and low square neckline. She appears to also be wearing a white apron. All three ladies are also wearing corsages. The men are all wearing suspenders and white shirts. You can see the red wall with the cross behind them and the podium with the microphone sticking up on the right side of the photo. |
