Reusser Family in Kansas - This is a photo, completely identified, of the Reusser family that moved to Kansas. They are posed outside a white clapboard house that is in desperate need of paint. It is probably winter, though there is no snow on the ground, because everyone is dressed warmly, the kids all have sock hats on, and the grass looks dead. I have dated as I have because the little boys are wearing belted suits with knickers and high topped shoes that were popular at the time. The clothing of the adults is hard to describe other than that the men are wearing suits. The house they are standing in front of has two large windows that storm windows have been fastened to. You can see latches in the window frames. The largest window on the right seems to be in a small built-on addition. You can see the window shade with it's string pull and a couple flower pots and what looks like a tin can with no label on the window sill. In the window on the left you can also see a window shade with it's string pull, but you can also see floral curtains that have been draped back on either side of the window. Here too, appear to be some containers with plants in them, on the windowsill. On the back of the photo someone has taken pencil and identified all the people in the photo, but it is very hard to read since it is on a charcoal gray mat.
