    "This Life is Yours" program was sponsored by the Berne Jaycees to honor an outstanding citizen of the Berne community. The program was patterned after the radio and television show, "This Is Your Life." Elmer W. Baumgartner, president of the First Bank of Berne and for years a business, civic and religious leader in Berne and the community, was named "Citizen of the Year, 1953" at the program on May 8, 1954.
