Beagle - 1920s
Beagle - This photo shows the dog seen in 2019.015.76 & 77 facing the camera. The man, who is probably Omer Neuenschwander, is holding the leash in such a way as to make the dog stand with his head up facing the camera. Also, you can see the train behind the fence again in this picture. You can't see the engine this time. The fence could be an effort to keep people from getting too close to the tracks or is just fencing off Omer's property.

Someone has written the date in pen across the top, and then has glued a small sheet with the identification of all the participants, on the back. David Neuhauser stands with his wife Wilma Habegger on the right side of the photo. The photo is unidentified, but I know who they are after scanning so many of their photos. Grandpa Neuenschwander's Studebaker - This is a small photo of a man sitting on the running board of an old car. Someone has written on the back, "Maxine Grandpa Neuenschwander's Studebaker car". "Grandpa" is probably Omer Neuenschwander. He is also seen in 2019.015.16. Omer was born in 1896, so would have been about 20 years old at the time of this photo. I found an identical image of this car on the internet and it was labeled as a 1915 St...

Group of Men - This photo shows a group of men gathered in a grassy area with some bare trees behind them. I have no idea what the group is doing. Omer Neuenschwander stands 5th from the left, in the very back. The men are casually dressed and some of them are holding things up, as if to show the camera. The 2nd man from the left appears to be holding a dollar bill, but I can't make out at all what the others are holding. They are certainly ...

Group of Men - circa 1917
Group of Men - This faded photo shows a group of men posing for the camera outside a building with a brick column on the left side and a multi-paned window and glass door. The men are wearing coats and jackets, so the weather is probably pretty cool. The only man I can identify is the man standing in the center with the "Hitler-like" moustache. That is Omer Neuenschwander. He is wearing a button down, sweater vest over a white shirt and tie. ...

Group of Men - This photo of a group of men, with Omer Neuenschwander in the center, appears to have been taken in front of a large, wooden building (barracks?). All the men are holding little white, cloth bags. Was this mail day and they got some gifts from an organization helping to support them? The men are not in uniform but Omer was a conscientious objector, and all of these other men might be, as well. We know Omer was sent to Fort Zach...
